Howto
When you start KsirK, press New Game to start a new game you will see a dialog in which you need to choose the skin (map and countries) to use, how much players there will be and if they are played by the computers. You will also be able to start a network game if needed. Finally, you can choose the type of game: conquer the world or reach a specific goal like e.g. conquer Africa and Asia continents.
Then you will choose the nationality and name of local players. At the beginning of the game, countries are distributed to all the players. Each country contain one army (represented by an infantryman in the default skin) at this moment. Each player has some armies to distribute to his countries. Note that five armies are represented by a cavalryman and 10 by a cannon.
On each turn, each player can attack his neighbours, eventually conquering one or more countries. At the end of each turn, some bonus armies are distributed to the players in function of the number of countries they own.

The computer cheats. It will move troups around then attach immediately after moving them. I can't do that, my turn ends ... thus the computer cheats ... Often it will move multiple troups to multiple countries then start attacking again. I do believe the crashing depends on the users os works for me on Fedora, not Ubunto

I'm running version 4.3.1. It works great in single computer mode, but crashes as soon as I join a game on a TCP/IP server.

It works fine for me in Ubuntu 8.10. I haven't played the "well known strategy game", but something seems to be wrong as I win all the time. I mean, how hard is it to conquer the world when you get loads of units and you can blitz through the whole continent. Im in France, then go on to UK, to Germay, to Scandinavia, Prussia, Russia and so on and on. Its all over for the other fellow in like 3 turns?

Crashes almost every round, especially if look at country info when the computer players are fighting. A "work-around" ... suggest add an Auto-Save feature until the game can be improved.
