KShisen Information
Description
Howto
Objective: Remove all the tiles from the game board within the shortest time possible.
KShisen will load a default layout automatically once you start the game and you can start playing right away.
You should carefully study the tiles lied out on the game board and find two tiles matching exactly. When you have found such a pair use your mouse to select these.
Once you select a right pair of tiles they will vanish from the game board. However, even if the tiles you select appear as open they will only be removed from the board if they can be connected with a line having no more than two bents and not crossing any other tiles (the line can not be diagonal).
Find as many matches as possible to remove all the tiles from the game board.

I already answered some of the posts. the old tiles are still there. "Settings->Configure KShisen...->Tiles". @Laura: I looked in how the two features work... and it seems I cannot do it anytime soon. There are just too many time contraints. @Max: On Linux you only have to install the kshisen package shipped with your distro. For Windows, look at http://windows.kde.org . You can install KShisen with that installer. @nilfilter: Yes that would be nice. However, I do not have the time at the moment. It's a WANNAHAVE though. :) @john: Well, if you go back or request a hint, the game goes in "Cheat Mode" in wich you cannot reach a highscore. In the future I want to change that behavior somehow and get rid of the cheat mode but for now it is how it works.

I don't understand the scoring. If I back up and correct a mistake it says I shouldn't have. Even though the time is much less it will not put it in the high scores. Time should be the factor. I also agree with the others about the tiles, the older ones were much easier to read. Will anyone ever read and answer some of these posts?

Great game, would be even better if it had a fullscreen mode that hides the icon and title bars. As it is now the tiles are too small for netbook displays/resolutions.

This would be improved greatly if you could create your own tile sets. Also you might consider adding "Fall" and "Attraction" options found on the windows version at http://dvalot.free.fr/games.htm. Fall is like gravity but tiles fall into adjacent holes, and Attraction eliminates vacant rows and columns.

Kshisen is my favorite game, but the new tiles are terrible. How can I get the old ones back?

Why aren't you switching to the Classic tileset design? I consider is very clean-looking. As alway, it's a matter of taste. There is choice, make use of it.

I just upgraded from Ubuntu Hardy to Intrepid and I must say - I HATE the KDE4 tiles !!! How can I get the much-more-visible tileset that you provided in the Hardy (eg, KDE3) version of this game? PLEASE! GIVE ME MY OLD TILES!!!

Version included with Fedora 9 has changed for the worse. Expect for lowest matrix setting a winnable game is not winnable. Additionally tile graphics is harder to view. Version included with Fedora 8 is much more enjoyable and winnable.
