KNetwalk Information
Description
Howto
The player is presented with a rectangular grid containing a server, several terminals (clients), and pieces of wire. The object of the game is to rotate these elements until every client is connected to the server, and no wires are left unconnected. Optionally, you can try to get a high score by minimizing the number of rotations needed.
Left clicking on a square rotates it counterclockwise, while right clicking rotates it clockwise. Middle clicking on a square marks it as blocked and prevents it from being rotated unless it gets unblocked by another middle click; this can be very useful for marking squares which are known to be in the correct orientation. The status bar displays the number of clicks so far.

Great, addictive... I always "warm up" my brain for studying with this game. However I could use some bigger table... :)

Great game - just one thing that bugs me slightly: The score is dependent on the number of moves needed to solve the puzzle (more moves required = more time required and time is a factor in the score). So the score should really be normalised by the number of moves required to solve a puzzle, i.e. score/no_required_moves as there is otherwise little incentive to play a puzzle that requires 88 steps when the top 10 are all from games with 55 or less required steps. Just my opinion :)

I liked the kd3-Version more, because it took less time to rotate the tiles ... you can't play too fast anymore.

I just scored 124pts in 01:44. With the exception of two, all of my top ten scores are now over 100 pts. Needless to say, I play addictively!

This game is very rewarding, I'm playing it from a debian system, probably an older version since my graphics are different, but great implementation of the pipe-game concept!

This is a bug, I think: on "very hard", my #10 score is 4:26, 78 points, 0 penalty. I just solved it in 4:25 with no penalty, and I get "Your score was 78m you did not make it to the highScore list". The version is 3.0.0

As of KNW 3.0.0 in KDE4.1.2, the HighScore' "Moves" column is empty. (too bad). Since Score is a mix of Time + Moves + Errors, final score could show a "breakdown" of the said score BTW. Congrats, it is actually addictive. Very Bad For Production!

It is very addictive. It is to small and easy. Measuring Time instead of Moves would make more sense for Highscores.

I really like this game - however, I find the KDE4 version hard to play, because the graphics are not as clear as in the old version. It is certainly more "slick" looking, but it decreases usability. The simplistic graphics in the older version are one of the things I liked the most. I appreciate the graphics being scalable in the KDE4 version, though. Any way, the point is I think there should be an option of using different graphics sets, including something similar to the older version.

Hello, thanks for the excellent game. It is simple yet very interesting to play. However, still there are bugs I guess. I have installed Fedora 9 and when I play the "very hard" level, I sometimes find clearly unsolvable problems e.g. a computer on a side surrounded by 5 other computers i.e. no way to reach it. That is why I usually play the "hard" level. But it also has one bug. Many times I solved the network but the game does not recognize it. It would be great if someone can look into these matters. Thanks.
