KMahjongg Information
Description
Howto
Objective: Remove all the tiles off the game board by locating each tile’s matching pair as fast as possible.
KMahjongg will load a default layout automaticly one once you start the game and you can start playing right away.
Note: The game timer will not start until you make the first move.
You should carefully study the stack of tiles lied out on the game board to find two tiles matching exactly (a matching pair). When you have found such a pair use your mouse to select these.
Note: Bear in mind that you can only select the tiles which have either of their vertical sides open.
Once you have selected the right pair of tiles they will vanish off the game board, thus opening the tiles previously located underneath.
Find as many matches as possible to remove all the tiles from the game board.

Howard: There are likely documents still running around that explain how to create new tile sets, backgrounds, etc. The documentation I wrote for the project which explained this seems to have fallen by the wayside. E-mail me (address above in contributors), and I'll try to dig up what I had from my archives & send to you.

I've been playing Mahjongg since buying Activision's Shanghai for the Atari ST back in 1987. It had several modes but one of my favorite was two-player mode where each player would take a turn pulling off a single tile... passing the mouse back and forth. So far as determining who won, I think it was total tile count but there are several ways to do it. These days I play Kmahjongg and really like it. All of my top ten times are less than 4 minutes accept for one. Keep up the good work.

Is there, or will there, be a way to create/import new board layouts and tile sets?

I'm using KMahjongg 0.8 under Ubuntu 8.10, and I miss the Pirates tileset and layout. Those were my favoritest ones!

KMahjongg 0.8 looks and plays fabulous! I'd very much like to see Pirates and Crosses board layouts re-introduced.
